2021 Concert on the Green Poster Art Competition
Rules and Submission Guidelines for COG Poster Contest
The annual Concert on the Green Poster Contest is an excellent opportunity for students and their art programs. Winning students will receive a scholarship award and their work will be displayed on our website.
When submitting a poster for our contest, make sure that your art follows the theme and is sized properly. Consider the music and/or the instruments of a symphony. Be sure to ask your art teacher for help or feedback when designing your poster.
Who is Eligible? ANY school-age student residing in Clay County, grades 4 – 12. Students from public, private or home schools and those who attend a school outside Clay County as long as they reside in Clay County. Students can be chosen as the first place winner more than once, but not in consecutive years.
Theme: The theme of the poster contest is ‘A SYMPHONIC CELEBRATION of the Arts’. The purpose of the contest is to encourage Clay County students to seek and learn more about the finest forms of visual art and music. Note: There is also a category for a scholarship award for a poster that displays the theme in a way that honors the Military.
Entry Requirements: There is no cost for entry. Only one poster per student is allowed. The poster design must cover a 11" x 12" section of a 11" x 17" paper or canvas (saving 5" on BOTTOM) using any artistic medium. Canvas shall not be stretched on a frame. Artwork must be flat.
All submitted artwork is released to Concert on the Green for the exclusive use of Concert on the Green. If you need a copy for your portfolio, take a picture beforehand.

- Register your poster art ONLINE at concertonthegreen.com
- Fill out CONTEST CHECKLIST SUBMISSION FORM
- Attach CONTEST CHECKLIST SUBMISSION FORM to the backside of your poster art
- Deliver your poster art by Friday, February 12th, 2021 by 5:00 pm to the office of Emily Dockery, Orange Park Town Hall, 2042 Park Ave, Orange Park, FL 32073.
Contest Deadline: All entries must be turned in by Friday February 12th, 2021 by 5:00 pm.
An online application and checklist application form MUST be completed with final entries delivered to Orange Park Town Hall, 2042 Park Ave, Orange Park, FL 32073, to the office of Emily Dockery. No late entries will be accepted.
Judging and Prize/Scholarship Information
Judging will be based on the artwork that will make the best POSTER. (Suggestion: As you compose your artwork, step back to view how visible the images and text is from a short distance.) Judging will be performed by at least three judges chosen for their expertise in visual arts and printing. Winners will be notified via email or phone call on or before Friday, April 16, 2021 and the winning entries will be framed for possible display and/or for the use of Concert on the Green.
Prizes/Scholarships will be awarded in four divisions:
Senior High Division (9th – 12th grade)
First Place Winner Receives:
- $500 Scholarship*
- Winner’s school program will receive a matching program grant
- Will be recognized as the official 2021 Concert on the Green poster artist
- Recognition on Concert website
Second Place receives a $350 Scholarship*
Third Place receives a $250 Scholarship*
Honorable Mention (2) each receive a $50 Cash Prize
Junior High Division (7th and 8th grade)
First Place receives a $250 scholarship*
Second Place receives a $100 Cash Prize
Third Place receives a $75 Cash Prize
Honorable Mention (2) each receive $50 Cash Prize
Elementary Division (4th - 6th grade)
First Place receives a $100 Cash Prize
Second Place receives a $75 Cash Prize
Third Place receives a $50 Cash Prize
Honorable Mention (2) each receive $25 Cash Prize
Honoring The Military Division (4th - 12th grade)
First Place receives a $75 Cash Prize
Second Place receives a $50 Cash Prize
Honorable Mention (2) each receive $25 Cash Prize
*All scholarship awards must be claimed within 12 months of high school graduation. Awarded scholarships to be given out for the college or art camp of choice or may be used to purchase art supplies equal to the amount of scholarship money. Art supplies may be purchased from any online or local art store. Concert on the Green will provide the payment directly to the chosen art store, college, or art camp.
The Clay County school program responsible for producing the winning poster will receive a program grant, in addition to recognition via Concert on the Green press releases and news articles. All student winners will be recognized on the Concert on the Green website.
