2016 POSTER CONTEST WINNERS
Over 175 Clay County student artists answered our call and submitted their artwork for the chance to have their design featured at this year's Concert on the Green event and win a $500 scholarship. We were overwhelmed by the talent and the creativity we saw from our county's students!
The Clay County Schools participating this year were: Annunciation Catholic School, Clay High School, Fleming Island High School, Lake Asbury Elementary, Lake Asbury Junior High School, Orange Park Elementary, Orange Park High School, Seven Bridges Preparatory School, St. Johns Country Day School, and Thunderbolt Elementary
The contest, which encourages school art students to create art representative of musical performances in an outdoor setting, was coordinated by Great Hang Ups Gallery of Fleming Island. This year's judges were Beth Haizlip, artist for the 2007 Jacksonville Jazz poster; Pauline Dickson, artist and art teacher in the Clay County School System for over 30 years; and Dee Roberts, artist for over 40 years and 2015 Jacksonville Watercolor Artist of the Year.
- Senior Division -
After much consideration, we are pleased to announce the 2016 Concert on the Green poster contest winner: Meagan Castiglione! Meagan is an art student of Pam Ayres.and a junior at St. Johns Country Day School. Her painting titled "Botanical Melody" will serve as the events' official poster and be printed on the program for the 2016 outdoor festival. The May 29 concert event this year will be on the grounds of St. Johns Country Day School.
Capturing second place in the Senior Division is Kayla Kandl, a senior at Fleming Island High School (instructor Michael Green), followed by third place winner, Yasmin Mercado, a junior at St. Johns Country Day School and a student of Pam Ayres. Honorable Mention winner Damani McKinney, a sophomore at Orange Park High School and a student of Carrie Keene.
Our "Honoring Military" award winner is Jordan McCall, a tenth-grade student of Carrie Keene at Orange Park High School.

Three eighth graders swept the Junior Division: Savannah Gilreath, a student at Lake Asbury Junior High School (instructed by Cynthia Smith), captured first place; Victoria Hayes, a student at St. Johns Country Day School (instructed by Anna Reynolds-Patterson), placed second; and Kaylee Beall from Seven Bridges Preparatory School (instructed by Donna Grasso), with an honorable mention.

Three students were declared our Elementary Division winners: Wallace Hager, a fourth grade student at Seven Bridges Preparatory School (instructed by Donna Grasso) captured first place and Helen Clare Makar, a fourth grade student at St. Johns Country Day School (instructed by Brianna Gaffey) placed second. Jacob Galloway, a sixth grader at Seven Bridges Preparatory School, who is instructed by Donna Grasso, was awarded the honorable mention prize.
