Our History

Concert on the Green has been a tradition in Clay County since 1987. Thanks to the generous ongoing support of businesses and individuals, we continue to invest in our community through the enrichment of music and art.

With community support to date, we have provided nearly $400,000 in scholarships to Clay County students and their school programs, and have exposed over 100,000 persons from all over the United States to the joy and thrill of a live symphony orchestra.

100% of our staff are dedicated volunteers that continue to work hard toward the enhancement and growth of educational opportunities for fine art and the highest form of music for our youth in Clay County, as well as staging the largest outdoor symphonic concert in the Northeast Florida area!

The first concert was performed in 1987 and has since established a commitment to artistic and educational excellence for community members.  Each year has marked an important milestone in our history of giving scholarships to local schools and to deserving students in the areas of art and music.  Over the past few years, Concert on the Green has adapted the concert format to include student-led performances such as Cocoa & Carols.

The winners of the Music Competition and the Poster Competition are awarded monetary scholarships in order to encourage them to continue their artistic endeavors.  In addition, donations are made to schools to assist in the continued education of the arts in Clay County.  Today, Concert on the Green celebrates over 36 years of bringing joy to the community with outdoor music performances and much-needed funding for those gifted in the Arts!
